Specialized's Ruby Compact balances comfort with speed and stability. The secret is Specialized's super-light, comfortable FACT 8r-carbon frame with a full-carbon fork up front — a stellar setup that gets up to speed effortlessly, handles like a dream and also takes the sting out of rough roads for ride-all-day fun. Plus, this roadster boasts a wide-range Shimano drivetrain with a hill-flattening crankset with smaller rings. You'll also love the easy-rolling DT Swiss wheels and Specialized's women's-specific components like the awesome Body Geometry seat.
To optimize fit, pedaling efficiency, comfort and control, Specialized tailors the geometry and components on their women’s bikes to feminine physiques. The frames are engineered with smaller-diameter tubes to decrease weight and increase compliance. Shorter top tubes provide a perfect fit and greater stand-over height on small frames allows for easy on/off. And, for a truly custom feel, Specialized includes small-diameter grips, narrow handlebars and women's saddles that make every ride more fun and comfortable than you could ever imagine.
This frame utilizes Specialized’s advanced FACT IS (Integrated Structure) construction method. By separating the frame into four main parts — the front triangle, seat tube/bottom bracket, chainstays and seatstays — Specialized is able to optimize each carbon piece for its specific purpose and create a structure that’s incredibly light, impeccably stiff and impressively strong.
Specialized's Zertz viscoelastic inserts damp vibrations for a velvety smooth ride so you stay comfortable and refreshed mile after mile.

- Road Biking
I am a new cyclist, so I am classifying myself as "recreational," but this bike is making me want to go fast! This is my first road bike. I have stayed away from cycling because I thought it would be too uncomfortable, but I can tell you I was wrong!! I took this bike out on its first ride for a good 50 miles. I was still feeling energetic and ready to go at the end. It is a very comfortable bike over the bumps, steady downhill going fast and it takes off effortlessly. It was very easy to put on speed to pass even when I was already going at a good clip. It felt awesome to overtake people who looked like old pros.
