Very nice bike, I rode 20 miles the first day without any problems, bike is fairly fast for a hybrid and overall pretty comfortable. I would definitely recommend this bike for recreational and for fitness. The only thing I don't like is the seat but I wore padded shorts so it wasn't a problem.

I have relied on an old Raleigh mountain bike for the past 10 years or so, and did not realize what I have been missing (the Raleigh served me well and I would recommend the brand). This Trek however is a huge improvement for my current riding preferences. I ride mostly for fitness and enjoyment on the weekends (7-20 miles). My rides are mostly on the "Strand" so I like to take in my surroundings while enjoying a quick ride that also supports my fitness needs. The Trek 7.1 FX handles great, breaks smoothly and quickly, and is significantly faster and more nimble than my old mountain bike. I'm sure the road bike "officianados" can still move a bit faster, but this one fits my needs perfectly, and I am passing a lot of other riders while I'm at it. And it looks cool! Thanks Trek!

This bike was a gift from my hubby. Now that both our daugthers are sufficient at riding their bikes, I needed a new bike to take casual rides in the neighborhood & on vacation. I'm petite, so I love that this bike is lightweight and its comfotable & easy to use. I've only had it about a week, my girls and I have been biking riding almost every day.

this is the first bike that I bought from a bike store. I settled on this one because of the price. Now that I rode over a 1000 miles on it I would spend the extra money and get one with better components. Mainly the rims and tires. I have broken 2 spokes and have had 3 flat tires. im a GG (gravelgrinder). This bike is not made for taking the beating I put one thru. We bought are bikes from a different bike store.Next time I will go to the [...]. Better staff there

I have only owned the bike for about a week, but it's perfect for commuting to work. I ride about 5 miles each way...much more than that and the seat gets a bit uncomfortable.

Bought this bike after a great deal of research and absolutely LOVE it for commuting after adding rack, and fenders to it. It is a great bike for the price, and a great commuter. It is a little bit of a dog as far as top end speed, but it is not a road bike so I guess I should have expected that. I will keep it as a commuter and definitely purchase a road bike for weekend rides with my roady friends.
