Do you climb up to get rowdy on the downs? Trek's Slash 8 27.5 was made with you in mind. Trek's aluminum frame houses a tapered head tube, 142x12 ABP rear end, and Full Floater suspension linkage that pedals efficiently yet sucks up hits of all sizes at any speed. Up front, a Pike RC supplies a 130/160mm adjustable-travel that's matched to a 160mm Monarch RL DebonAir shock out back that offers coil-like plushness with the low weight and tunability of an air shock. The parts gracing this bad machine are just as rad. You've got SRAM 1x11 gearing for impeccable chain management and the right amount of gears, an internally routed KS dropper post, and a short Bontrager stem holding wide bars. Tubeless-ready, 27.5-inch Bonty wheels with fat tires and powerful SLX discs keep the ups manageable while maximizing the downs.

Trek's EVO link
Trek's EVO rocker link is a one-piece, magnesium linkage that drastically increases rear-end stiffness and decreases total frame weight, too.

Trek’s premium lightweight aluminum is continuously cold extruded and butted at multiple points for ultimate weight reduction and superior strength. Frames built with Trek’s Alpha Platinum aluminum are hydroformed to create the most sophisticated shapes for the lightest weight, and are finished using their smooth-weld process.

Trek's E2 head tube is 1 1/2 inches in diameter at the bottom and 1 1/8 inches at the top. This maximizes front-end stiffness for awesome steering precision and control, while allowing the use of standard 1 1/8-inch stems and not adding much weight.

For every full-suspension mountain bike that they sell, Trek donates $10 to the IMBA to help build new trails. Join the IMBA today!

I changed from my Trek Remedy 8 to this Trek Slash 8 in December 2016 and it has been a massive change, this beast was created to race enduro, do jumps, ride long trails and work great everywhere.

Comments:

This slash is not the lightest on the block but set up tubless, throw on a carbon stem and bar, upgrade the rear shock and bam you have an everyday machine that can handle anything you run it through. After all the upgrades that i just said you can get this bike down to just under 29lbs which is almost as light as its carbon frame setup, dont forget this bike can be light by changeing wheels
