    Comments:

My daughter has an older bike of the same model. She loves the rugged look and construction of this bike. And it is so much easier for her to pedal than the 18" single speed bike she had before. The difficulty in getting started and going uphill was hindering her progress of learning to ride. With the Hotrock, she progressed quickly to a self-sufficient rider. I'd recommend this for ages 6+ height 45 inches and up. While heavier than some 20" bikes the aluminum frame gives a very strong frame at significant weight savings versus a comparable steel frame bike. My only complaint is that ours is a little hard to shift into 1st gear.

    Comments:

My 9 year old daughter has used this bike for the past two years and we are impressed. We ride trails in Yosemite National Park, Three Rivers, as well as several beaches. We also enjoy biking through the casual beach town. This bike is sturdy while maintaining a girly look. We look forward to purchasing the next size larger Specialized Hot Rock.

      Comments:

You get what you pay for! We looked at a tremendous number of bikes for our 6-year old girl and nothing compared to the quaity of the components and range of seat height of this bike. We instantly noticed an improvement in her riding skils and confidence - the frame geometry is excellent. The gears allow her to keep up better on family rides, and light trail riding is easy because of the BMX-style low top tube height and front suspension.
