Details

The Dura-Ace Front Derailleur is Shimano's top-of-the-line front changer. The body is made of cold-forged aluminum for lightness with top-notch strength, and the pivots are extra wide for amazing shifting. The lightweight, replaceable aluminum cage is nickel plated for durability. Plus, the 7900 is designed to eliminate the need to trim the derailleur to prevent chain rubbing.

Capacity is calculated by subtracting your smallest chainring's tooth count from the largest chainring's tooth count. Example: 53/39 chainrings: 53 - 39 = 14-tooth capacity.
Braze-on front derailleurs mount to either a braze-on frame mount (left) or to a clamp mounted around your seat tube (right).

Comments:

I think the first reviewer just needs a decent bike mechanic! I finally bought the complete set of D-A 7900 components, and it made an immediate and significant difference. Shifting is smooth, quite and crisp. With inferior components, I'd get greater hesitation or delay, or the chain coming off on occasion. These components made me a better rider immediately! Like many other cases, you get what you pay for. If you can afford the cost, you won't regret the investment. You will immediately appreciate why the elite cyclists use components such as these.

Comments:

I'm upgrading to a new Madone 6.9 from an old Trek 5900 with 9 speed Dura Ace. I was attracted to the 7900 compact because it was supposed to eliminate chain rub. I can only use 6 of the 10 gears on the back due to chain rub.
